High Hopes

Here’s a pic of my latest painting High Hopes. Weirdly my first time painting on plywood and although I loved the whole process of getting the wood ready, sanding, priming, cradling, more sanding, it’s so time consuming. Hopefully I can speed that up as I get more into the swing of it.

The piece is a 1/1, there won’t be any more painted but I will be producing an edition of 75 screen prints in the very near future. If you’d like to enquire about the price and details of this painting then drop me an email at eelus@eelus.com .

Green Day update!

Cargo interview

After the kind folk over at Cargo let me make a mess of one of their walls they wanted to sit me down and ask me a question or 2. Read the interview HERE.

Last of the American Girls

Not long back an email dropped into my inbox asking me was I interested in doing a canvas for a project based around the new Green Day album 21st Century Breakdown. No brainer? I think so… Continue reading

Behind the scenes

I don’t think last years Cans Festival needs any introduction. I painted what I thought was my best piece to date and had an amazing time doing it (big thanks to Adam koukoudakis for his help and patience). I’ve had a few people asking how I get to the final piece and what are my images based on so here’s a little peek. I spend a lot of time looking for images in old books, any kinds of magazines I can get my hands on and the internet. Luckily my girlfriend buys tat like Vogue and other glossy excuses to stop eating and hate yourself. So from them I found these pages…

Lovely lovely ladies.

Lovely lovely ladies.

Scan them in, lots of playing around in Adobe Photoshop, then into Adobe Illustrator for the final artworking, print them, cut them, spray them, get drunk. The print of this image has sold out at Pictures On Walls but they will be releasing a super limited hand finished edition that I’ll be painting very soon. With the power of my blog machine, I shall keep you posted with the progress.

Oopsy Daisy

Last November saw the opening of Mutate Britain. An awesome event that mixed music with art with metal, lots and lots of metal. I was lucky enough to be given some scrap plane fuselage along with some artists like Eine, Elph, Inkie and Mode 2 to name a few and this is how I worked it.

You can buy a print of this here. This is the 1st giclee print I’ve ever had done and I have to say I was amazed at the quality and detail.

Beware…

If you happen to visit the gang at Stella Dore and find yourself caught short, please make sure you knock on the toilet door before you go in, it might be occupied.
