Show Opening.

Well, after 6 months of blood, sweat and tears my debut London show ‘The Colour Out Of Space’ finally opened it’s doors on Thursday and what a night it was. The space seemed to fill up almost immediately with a really good mix of people who all seemed to be having a good time and enjoying the work, I really couldn’t have asked for more. The free Mojitos flowed and from what I hear made quite a few people suffer the following morning, myself included. Thanks so much to everyone who came over and said hello especially my art bruv Mark from ‘Up The Arts’ who patiently helped get the show looking as good as it did, and my 3 awesome assistants, Em, Em and Ali who kept the show running so smoothly.

I’ll be here running the show every day from 11-6:30 until Sunday so if you’re in the area come over and say hello. Until then, here’s a few photos of the show courtesy of Wallkandy and Butterfly from Juxtapoz.

Nesting

Had a great day painting a new piece yesterday at the upcoming MuTate show ‘One Foot in the Grove’ which opens to the public on the 8th of Oct, check HERE for more details.

This piece will be available to buy as an original painting and hopefully a limited print edition via the guys at MuTate. More details to follow.

Banksy Vs Bristol Museum

Finally managed to get my arse over to the Banksy show in Bristol the other day. The doors opened at 10am, we got there around 9:45 and the queue was already immense, this is what we saw as we turned the corner…

If this wasn’t bad enough we had to join another huge queue just so we could join this queue! This show has been on for weeks now and has been the same every single day which to me is amazing. You can say what you want about Banksy but as I stood around waiting for 2.5 hours to get in, I saw every walk of life and every age of person in that queue. Everything from babies to pensioners, rich and poor, all interested, all excited. Goes to show that he’s taken an art form that was once totally associated with degeneration, crime and mindless vandalism and made it accessible, interesting and a little more acceptable. I’m not saying this is the case for everyone, there will always be opposition, but when I stood beside a woman who must have been in her late 70′s at the youngest and saw the smile on her face and heard her chuckle constantly as she looked at the pieces inside, it proves that not only is he doing something right for a lot of people, he’s still at the top of his game.
